Leading Change: Who are We and Where are We Going?
An overview will be given of this initiative along with introductions of the team members. Dr. Pronovost will set the stage for achieving our goal. The Comprehensive Unit-Based Safety Program: How Will This Work?
Sam Watson will share the benefits Michigan hospitals have gained from participation in this project along with the amazing results. Hospitals will have the opportunity to discuss the necessary ingredients for success along with common barriers. An outline of the initiatives, data collection, and timeline will be given by Chris George and Pat Noga.
An overview of the Daily Goals sheet, an interdisciplinary communication tool, will be given, with examples of why this tool is so helpful. Discussion will cover specific strategies and take home steps for implementing the tool in your ICUs. Toward Eliminating Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections
The latest central line bloodstream infection science will be presented. The reductions from the bundle along with how to reduce infections in long term lines will be discussed along with strategies for applying across the hospital for all patients for hospitals that are ready to take the next steps. Learning from a Defect: Team Exercise
Participants will advance skills in identification and elimination of defects.
